Developers of Bitcoin Cash altcoin announced the launch of the Bitcoin ABC 0.16.2 version. Other changes include the use of the address of the new Cashaddr format, which is based on the Bech32 code base. Thanks to these changes, it will be possible to distinguish the addresses of the Bitcoin Cash network and the original Bitcoin Core. This will save users from the risk of sending funds to the address of another network. Also, the new protocol makes it easy to create QR address codes, which also excludes the possibility of erroneous sending of coins. In the near future, it is planned to expand the functionality by the possibility of adding smart contracts, which should attract even more users to Bitcoin Cash.
It should be noted that the introduction of a new address format in the network was announced as early as last autumn. Then Amaury Séchet spoke of the transition date, calling it January 14, 2018. In addition to these changes, the Bitcoin Cash network is planning to conduct two more hard forks in the near future. This update is related to the increase in the block size, as well as the introduction of changes to the algorithm, which corrects the complexity of the production. As we see, the developers do everything to make BCH recognized by users, as the most convenient and simple digital currency for making payments.
