Coinbase Announces Cryptocurrency Index Fund

The American cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase, announces the creation of a cryptocurrency index fund with passive control. It is known that the minimum deposit for participation in the fund will be $10,000. The administration will receive a commission fee for asset management of 2%. Note that the incentive commission is not provided. This feature is not common among traditional funds, but is becoming a normal practice in the cryptocurrency market.

This fund will be managed by a newly-established Coinbase department. It is reported that the investment basket will include such digital coins as BTC, ETH, BCH and LTS in the ratio of 62%, 27%, 7%, and 4% respectively. Over time, the contents of the investment portfolio may change, depending on the market trend.

It is reported that investors will be invited to contribute funds in both fiat currency (American dollar) and digital assets (the coins represented in the basket). At the first stage, only American investors with accreditation can invest in the Coinbase fund. Over time, this restriction will be removed. Investors will be able to replenish their deposit accounts every month, and receive the interest once every quarter.
